Gross Negligence: Intentional harm to someone else's property or life.

Harmless Error: An error that took place in a lesser court in the course of a trial yet was not serious enough to affect the outcome of the trial and therefore was considered to be a harmless error.
Hearing: A formal meeting where definite legal matters are heard to determine the facts of the event.
Hearsay: Evidence that was not physically witnessed in any way yet was produced as result of being heard from another person.

Immunity: A state of protection from legal liability.
Impeachment of Witness: A deliberate attack on a witness in order to disqualify the witness’s credibility.
Inadmissible Evidence: Information that has been provided that can not be justified as being reliable enough to be considered acceptable evidence.
Injunction: An order of the court which forbids a certain action from proceeding.
Instruction: A direct order to the jury which provides a specific direction regarding laws that are to be applied to a case.
Inter Alia: Amongst other things.
Interlocutory Appeal: A form of an appeal that is given to an appellate court which requests a temporary or provisional order of a trial court.
Interrogatories: There are questions that are given during the litigation process, where by each party is given the opportunity to have specific questions that must be answered.
Intervention: In a civil suit, it is the acceptance of a third party to join in a suit.
Irrelevant: Evidence that does not sufficiently provide relevance to the matter at hand.
